How would I respond to the empty tomb?

  1. I realize that a benefit from this devotion and blogging has, for me, been a letting go of the strict efficient way I have been "doing" devotions, and letting myself just sit and reflect, if only for a few minutes. And putting in the day entry early and letting it percolate before I write later in the day is also helpful. This day's picturing of spending time with Jesus is a glimpse of what is possible.

  2. If they didn't know the stone was going to be rolled away, how did they think they were going to get into the tomb to do their ministrations with the burial spices. None-the-less, it must have been unnerving to find that he wasn't there. I can't imagine such a thing.

  3. If I were one of the women, I believe I'd remember that Jesus said he'd rise in three days, but it's such a bizarre thought that I would have trouble believing it and would go to the grave to do my duty, anyway. The miracle of the resurrection and redemption is so special that we reflect on it a whole lot. I hope that I can understand it more clearly as I continue to pray and try to strengthen my own character.
