Monday March 8, 2010 No Run-of-the-Mill Sinner

Text Luke 6:27-36 Reading 225

Oh, to be in the front row when Jesus speaks! How would I be different if I followed his directions?

  1. I realize - I AM in the front row when Jesus speaks! I especially like the advice to respond to a hard time with the "energies of prayer"!! And to "live generously" - Lord, help me!

  2. I think I'm ok with the "give without expecting in return." At least I understand it and strive to have no expectations. "Practice the servant life," though is where I falter. My ego gets in the way and I care too much what others think. My prayers will head in that direction today.

  3. This is just what I needed to hear today. I know exactly what I need to do and who I need to do it for. I don't want to be a garden variety sinner. So I'm going to be more generous to one who "gives me a hard time...slaps me in the face [figuratively) and who grabs my shirt [again figuratively] and live the servant life!" This reading was really just what I needed so that I could be reminded of who I profess to be! (A disciple of Christ) :-) And just for the record, this person is someone that none of you know... one of the few connections I have away from Grace!!!
