I like the idea of being a stagehand - it does not seem "mere" at all! But I guess I do find it hard to never be the initiator - however that plays into this. Something I want to "throw out" is worrying about trapped when reaching out to people around me. I do hesitate sometimes to be generous because I fear being "guilted" into doing more than I have "planned." Help me, God, to abandon what I have planned to respond to your call. Amen!
So John set the stage for Jesus and Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit so that everything is in place before God. Sounds so simple, but my responsibility in this scheme of things is enormous. Where are my strength of character & my agape to respond to Jesus' call? I shall pray in that direction today.
Hi to all. As you know I have been away this week and not had access to the blog. I have missed you all ALOT. I have been doing the reaing and thinking each day and have on a couple days had conversation with the Saegers about the readings. Interesting.
Today's idea about John being the stage hand for Jesus as the number one Ruler in our lives is an interesting metaphor. No wonder Herod had him put in Jail. All of a sudden Herod's life and lifestyle is in jeopardy. and if we are going to really have Jseus as our King (in charge of everything) then clearly our old lifestyle is surely in jeopardy also. Oh my.
