Arlene, I notice you posted this at 1:28 in the morning. What were you doing on your computer at that time of morning? Thank you for keeping this blogging project going...As for the lesson today - I am struck by how hard it is for me to slow down and really wade in the word of God. I just want to get my blogging done so I can be finished with my daily Lenten practice. How do you suggest I prepare my brain and body for mindful blogging and reading of the bible. When do you guys tend to find the best time and practice is for you?
Kathryn, I'm sure if I had your busy life I would not be able to blog at all. I congratulate you the days when you can do it. Once in awhile is much, much more than not at all. My down-time in my day is late afternoon, so that is usually when I read and pray and blog. Today's lesson made me realize that even when his life was not going well, Jesus still went with the "program." He didn't give up on us, even in our worst hours. How comforting that is! He is still living!
I hope that Arlene is able to see the blogging while she is in FL this week. We are all really indebted to her for setting it up and keeping it going. Thanks from all of us, Arlene. And Kathryn, I agree with Bev, if I had your schedule and your life, daily Bible study and blogging about it would probably never fit into my schedule. So thanks for the times when you can chime in. I'm very impressed.
As for this reading, I think if I were one of the disciples and had seen how Judas had turned on Jesus, I would have been very afraid, thinking he would turn on all of us. But when Jesus healed the servant's ear, I think I would have been relieved and reminded that Jesus cares for us and protects, even in the worst of circumstances. God is good. Amen
Hello from Florida. The system thinks I am on the west coast so it was really 5 am not 1 when I wrote. We have limited access here so I write from the library and may not do things "on time". This scene makes me think how often we too use force when we do not need to - maybe because we want to feel control we fear we do not have.
