Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
Now that our discipline is over, I hope you all will share how this method worked for you and what you think might improve the experience should we want to try something similar in the future.

Just read a great - and appropriate - devotion on our website. Here is the link: http://www.gracelutheranchurch.com/Pages/Daily.html Scroll down to the entry by Pr. Kerry Nelson.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I learned is the value of sitting quietly waiting for God to talk to me. I never was able to let go of my schedule before. Even a few minutes is different when experienced in this way.
This was valuable to me because it was a DAILY discipline. Never have I been able to do that before. I regret that so much of it was about ME and what I need. Should have focussed on others more. I learned to know my Mary Circle better, which was a great thing. I have put Katherine on a pedestal and think she's just about perfect and found that she doesn't think of herself that way and has the some of the same doubts that the rest of us have. I found that Arlene is an independent thinker and cares a great deal about her mission. I found that my friend of long standing, Rosalyn, is my "new friend" and so valuable in my life. In fact, I treasure all of you as friends, which didn't have the depth it has. Hope I can keep up with daily devotions as actively as I did in Lent. Thank you Rosalyn for introducing the lessons and Arlene for doing the techie work.
ReplyDeleteArlene, thank you so much for your care, constancy, and devotion to this blog devotional. Although I got bogged down by life and computer glitches I still found the whole experience to be very valuable and good for my faith journey. How awesome is it to be able to interact with some of my favorite people everyday and share our trials, triumphs and faith journeys/struggles. It was still hard for me to calm my mind and body enough to truly reflect and pray as much as I should have each day for this Lenten project but ...that is okay. Struggle is good. I thank God for you all. Kathryn
